Affirming care for all genders and sexual orientations.
Everyone with a pelvis deserves to have their pelvic health addressed. In our practice we do more than make an inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ folks, we have training specifically designed to cater to your needs.
We regularly treat patients of all genders and sexual orientations for painful sexual activity and have an understanding that sexual activity doesn’t always involve heteronormative or monogamous models.
We also specialize in treating patients who identify as trans or gender-expansive. Some common issues include pelvic pain, bladder or bowel pain and dysfunction. There are systemic and cultural factors that make these issues common. We have lots of tools to help manage these challenges within a realistic context.
Patients who identify as transgender or gender-expansive may have other specific concerns that are well addressed by physical therapy such as: pain from binding or tucking and the genitourinary side effects (like dryness, painful insertion or urinary urgency) from Hormone Therapy. Our team also has training and expertise in pre-hab and recovery before and after gender affirming surgery. (Vaginoplasty, Metoidioplasty, Phalloplasty).
We also support queer conception and perinatal PT care for folks of all genders and sexual orientations.
LGBTQIA+ clients can also take advantage of our expertise in a wide variety of pelvic health concerns that are not specific to one’s gender or sexual attraction. No matter your needs, we have you covered in an affirming environment with clinicians who are here to help YOU as a whole person.
