How we Support Folks with hEDS

If you have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), you know how unpredictable and exhausting it can be. We see you and we understand! Our physical therapists specialize in treating complex pelvic health conditions, including those related to connective tissue disorders like hEDS. We meet you where you are while targeting symptoms like joint instability, pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction – which can often go hand in hand.

Why Pelvic PT Matters

Folks with hEDS are more prone to issues like pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence, and painful sex due to a lack of connective tissue support. A tailored pelvic physical therapy plan can improve strength, coordination, and stability – reducing pain and improving overall function.

During your initial evaluation we will take into account your full history and incorporate a whole body approach to assess and treat your symptoms. We commonly utilize techniques such as manual therapy and Redcord as stabilization tools and implement targeted strengthening of your core, hips and pelvic floor. Additionally, we provide in depth education and life application skills to help you manage your flares and move safely while continuing to do what you love.

Living with hEDS doesn’t mean you have to accept pelvic pain or dysfunction as your norm and that’s where we come in! We’re here to support your journey with compassion, expertise, and a plan that works for your body, lifestyle and symptoms.
